The marquee matchup of the night in a light NBA schedule sees the San Antonio Spurs make the journey to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder.
Winners of 10 in a row and owners of an impressive 19-4 record, the Thunder have shown an occasional wobble at home falling to the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in November. The two sides have met already once this season in San Antonio's home opener when the Spurs won 86-84 on a Tony Parker jumper at the buzzer.
San Antonio bounced back on Saturday from defeats to the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers earlier in the week when they defeated the Boston Celtics 103-88 at the AT & T Center. Manu Ginobili is expected to miss the game against the Thunder with a quad injury picked up in the victory over the Celtics.
Two games behind the Spurs in the Southwest Division, the Memphis Grizzlies welcome in the Chicago Bulls to the FedEx Forum. Just six and four in their past 10 games, the Grizzlies won in Utah on Saturday to snap a three-game slide that had seen losses to the Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.
The Suns, a game and a half ahead of the Sacramento Kings at the foot of the Pacific Division, have now won two in a row after halting their seven-game losing streak with the triumph over the Grizzlies followed by a win against the visiting Jazz on Friday. Monday is game four of their five-game home stand when the Kings are in town and Charlotte will complete the set on Wednesday.
The Spurs are 2.10 to win the NBA Championship while the Thunder are 7501.00.
