Rajon Rondo had a triple-double as the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 85-75 at the TD Garden.
Needing Rondo, Ray Allen and Brandon Bass to step up in support of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the Celtics saw all five starters in double figures in the best team performance of the series.
Rondo had 18 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the way for Boston who move on to play the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Final starting with Game 1 in Florida on Monday.
Andre Iguodala's 18 points led the way for the 76ers who struggled from the field hitting just 35% on the evening compared to the 42% of the Celtics. Elton Brand and Jrue Holiday each chipped in with 15 points for Philadelphia, but the 10 combined points of Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner doomed the Sixers.
Game 1 of the Western Conference Final is in San Antonio on Sunday evening as the Spurs host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the AT & T Center.
Perceived as the last championship run for the veteran San Antonio squad, the Spurs will have to hold off the young guns of Oklahoma City in a battle of the top two seeds in the Conference.
Off the court, the Golden State Warriors, who hold the first round pick of the Spurs, are also trying to keep hold of the pick that they owe the Utah Jazz at the top of the draft. A top-seven protected pick, the Warriors would owe the pick to the Jazz should any team move past them in the NBA lottery.
With such a deep draft this year, Golden State is negotiating to keep the pick as the Warriors look to continue their rebuilding project.
