Robson doubtful due to wrist woes

Laura Robson has suffered a massive setback in her preparations for the Australian Open, having sustained a recurrence of an injury to her left wrist.
The 19-year-old, who was forced to miss the ASB Classic in New Zealand last week, took the first set of her opening match at the Hobart International against Yanina Wickmayer, but soon after was forced to retire due to injury.
And Robson, who reached the third round in Melbourne 12 months ago, now has only a week to try and get herself ready for the opening Grand Slam of 2014.
In 2013 Robson saw off Melanie Oudin and former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova to reach round three in Melbourne, before being beaten in straight sets by Sloane Stephens, who went on to reach the semi-finals.
The left-hander went one better at Wimbledon reaching the fourth round and the second week of the tournament, before losing out to Estonian Kaia Kanepi.
And Robson put in another creditable showing at the US Open, again making round three before a 6-2 7-5 loss to Li Na.
Na, the 2011 French Open champion, is 10.00 to win the Australian Open, with Serena Williams 1.57 and defending champion Victoria Azarenka 5.50.
