"When he plays well, he's a very tough guy to beat. He plays some unbelievable shots," admitted world number four Murray, who is 1.55 to win the match and reach the quarter-finals in Paris.
"I'll need to stay solid and try and wear him down - that's worked when I've played him in the Slams before. We've had some unbelievable matches but I don't want to be in that position again."
Murray, 1213.00 to win the French Open and 9.00 to claim the Wimbledon title next month, has struggled with a back problem during the first week of the tournament, particularly when he was forced to come from behind after losing the first set to beat Jarkko Nieminen in the second round.
However, he eased to a straight sets victory over Santiago Giraldo in the third round to reach the last 16 at Roland Garros for the fourth successive year.
