Andy Murray will start the new campaign with a tricky encounter against Janko Tipsarevic at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship on 27th December.
The world number three recently expressed his satisfaction following his most successful season having becoming the first British male to win a Grand Slam title in 76 years with victory at the US Open, while he also picked up an Olympic gold medal at the London Games.
Murray admitted that he still had room for improvement going into 2013 and he will no doubt look to show his game has progressed further when playing in next month's season curtain-raiser at the Zayed Sports City Tennis Complex in Abu Dhabi.
Murray has the edge against the Serbian, Tipsarevic, leading 5-3 going into their United Arab Emirates showdown, with his most recent success a straight sets victory at the ATP Miami Masters earlier this year.
Murray won the inaugural event back in 2009 and will look to emulate that achievement to head into the first Grand Slam of the New Year in confident mood at the Australian Open. The Scot is 3.50 to win in Melbourne, Roger Federer is 5.50 and world number one Novak Djokovic can be backed at 2.00.
