John Oxx's Saddler's Rock and Godolphin's Colour Vision look set for some mighty battles over the next couple of seasons after their clash in the Goodwood Cup.
Saddler's Rock emerged victorious ahead of Askar Tau and 'Vision', who gave the first two four lbs, yet finished only one-and-three-quarters lengths back in third.

He battled all the way to the line and he is going to improve.

The wiser race fans had probably taken note of winning jockey Johnny Murtagh's 48 per cent winning record at the Sussex track which he maintained on the 2/1 winner.
A son of the great Sadler's Wells, 'Rock' was never going to be troubled from a furlong out and afterward his trainer said: "He will go next for the Lonsdale at York in three weeks although he'll never want soft or heavy ground."
Said Murtagh: "We had this fella ready and he has certainly redeemed himself after being beaten at Ascot. He battled all the way to the line and he is going to improve.
"I wanted to keep up my strike rate down here and when you have horses like this one to ride it really does make life that much easier. He has a fine future."
Eton Rifles is 1000.00 to win the Nunthorpe Stakes at York later this month while Wizz Kid can be backed at 1000.00 and Soul at 1000.00.
