Frankel set for TV stardom
August 18, 2012 09:25:16 UK
Sir Henry Cecil's brilliant four-year-old Frankel will be seen by TV viewers in the Yorkshire region as a booster for the Juddmonte International on Wednesday.
British Champions Series and Racing For Change are joining up with the racecourse to advertise his planned appearance on the Knavesmire.

It seems very appropriate to advertise the fact that Frankel is due to race in Yorkshire.

The commercial will run to 20 seconds and will be used solely to demonstrate the importance of Frankel's race at York and encourage viewers to visit the track to watch what may be the horse's penultimate appearance of his career. He is 1.10 to win the race, while St Nicholas Abbey is at 6.00 and Nathaniel can be backed at 1000.00.
Rod Street, chief executive of British Champions Series, said: "We believe this is the first time that a racehorse's intended appearance on the track has been TV advertised in this country, so we hope it drives ticket sales and interest from the wider public.
"The Qipco British Champions Series is about taking the best of our sport to new audiences, so it seems very appropriate to advertise the fact that Frankel is due to race in Yorkshire."
The commercial will run on ITV Yorkshire at least 16 times over the weekend of 18th and 19th August, in advertising slots at both peak evening times and during the day.
