Frankel makes it lucky 13
August 22, 2012 20:47:18 UK
Frankel showed why he is rated as the world’s greatest horse by cruising to victory at the Juddmonte International at York to make it 13 wins from as many races.
The four-year-old did not have the best of starts and was third from last going into the first bend.
However Frankel slowly started to ease his way into the race and powered up the inside rail to beat Farhh and St Nicholas Abbey, who had to settle for second and third respectively.
Tom Queally was on board the Sir Henry Cecil-trained colt for the showpiece event in Yorkshire and he was delighted with Frankel’s performance.
He said: "I suspected they'd go a good gallop, but we had our plan in place. It panned out nicely - he won ever so well. It's a fantastic training performance."
Meanwhile Jakkalberry is 61.00 to win the Melbourne Cup while Jukebox Jury can be backed at 1000.00 and Vadamar at 1000.00.
