Cumani weighs up options

Luca Cumani is weighing up the prospects for several of his recent runners as the season heads into its final quarter.
And one of them - Require - is one for which he clearly has high hopes after she finished a close second at Doncaster and is now rated 85.

She (Require) really needs a much stiffer test of stamina and we'll be stepping her up to a mile and five at Newbury next time.

Said Cumani: "The ground was much quicker than on her previous visit to the track and the tempo a more modest one and those two things catch her out. She really needs a much stiffer test of stamina and we'll be stepping her up to a mile and five at Newbury next time."
His Khione finished third in the Chalice Stakes at Newbury "finishing sluggishly" and Cumani added: "That had been apparent at Newbury the time before but not in her work at home where, if anything, she had been a bit too keen in her latest piece of work.
"The good thing is that she is now black type, as she is very well bred this makes her a valuable asset to her owners."
Fulgur, meanwhile, made a promising reappearance at Doncaster in what was a warm handicap of its type, only blowing up late on as a lack of a recent run told.
Said the trainer: "We didn't want to run him over a mile and a half straight back but there's a handicap at York coming up at that trip which will probably be where he runs next. Kirthill is also a possible for that race and it was pleasing to see the handicapper has dropped him 3lb."
Meanwhile, Frankel is 1.10 to win the Juddmonte International while St Nicholas Abbey is at 6.00 and Farhh can be backed at 11.00.
