William Buick goes global glory hunting this weekend knocking up the air miles between Britain, American and France.
John Gosden's first jockey will be at Arlington Park tonight and then leaps aboard a trans-Atlantic flight for Deauville on Sunday afternoon.
He has three rides on the card and there's a field of 11 for this year's Million where he is reunited with Colombian over the mile and a quarter - a race he won aboard the horse two years ago. Colombian is 8.00 to win the race, while Crackerjack King is at 4.50 and Boisterous is at 6.00.
He said in his attheraces blog: "While I'm not that familiar with the American team there are five Euro-raiders in the line-up that are all within a pound or two of each other.
"I've got options on Colombian in stall five and if he brings his "A" game across the Atlantic then we've got a real chance of making a serious impression.
"But the one thing which would give us a big edge would be some give in the ground. It does suit him and it's very possible at this time of year that a thunderstorm can hit Chicago - it did when I was there two years ago.
"Put it this way, I won't mind having to ride with extra goggles because Colombian has produced his two best winning runs when it's been very soft, one in France and the other at Sandown in April when it was heavy and he beat another mud-lover, Poet, by three lengths.
"He's had a break since Royal Ascot when he was about seven lengths behind So You Think and he goes into this fresh and well.
"Of the opposition, Wigmore Hall was value for finishing closer than fourth in last year's Million and on the same card Treasure Beach won the Secretariat but the one that's hardest to evaluate of the Euro runners is Crackerjack King, who was very smart in Italy and beat Afsare quite comfortably over there in May. He never got a blow at Nathaniel in the Eclipse but there's nothing of his grade in this and I respect him."
