Pride happy with Rain Affair

Trainer Joe Pride says he cannot fault the condition of Rain Affair going into Saturday's Group 2 $200,000 Sebring Theo Marks Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Rain Affair is looking to bounce back following a disappointing third behind Veyron and Streama in the Warwick Stakes last time out and Pride thinks he is well placed to do so.
He goes well on dry tracks, too, but I would love to see a bit of rain.Joe Pride
Sydney's fastest racehorse is looking to pick up his 13th win from 25 starts and Pride could not be happier with the way the gelding is looking going into the race.
Rain Affair will have champion jockey Glyn Schofield on board, while the horse's track record at Rosehill is also impressive.
Pride is happy with the preparations and says a bit of rain now just needs to fall to make everything perfect.
"Everything is in order with the horse, I'm really happy with him and the last thing we need to press the 'go button' is for some rain,'' Pride said.
"Everyone is cheering for a bit of rain to help with the bushfires and to get their front lawns a bit greener, but I have another reason as Rain Affair is obviously so good on wet tracks.
"He goes well on dry tracks, too, but I would love to see a bit of rain.''
Regards the track, Pride added: "Rain Affair loves Rosehill and has only been beaten there once by the mighty Pierro (fourth in the Canterbury Stakes),'' the trainer recalled.
"If you are going to be beaten by a horse, Pierro is one you don't mind getting beaten by."
Rain Affair is 2.80 to win Race 5 at Rosehill on Saturday, with Riva De Lago 13.00 and Someday 9.00.
