Injury continues to hamper Idowu

Great Britain triple jump Gold medal hope Phillips Idowu will miss a training camp in Portugal, with fitness doubts still hampering his Olympic preparations.
The 33-year-old, who has won every major gold medal on offer apart from the Olympics, is hoping to go one better than his silver four years ago in Beijing.

We will assess the situation again in the coming days.

However, Idowu has been forced to pull out of several meets in recent times due to a hip problem and will now seek treatment in London rather than heading to Portugal.
A statement from Idowu's coach, Ashton Moore, confirmed: "In training recently Phillips has had an ongoing injury problem and we have not been able to go at things 100 per cent.
"At the weekend Phillips told me he would continue to seek treatment from a private physio in London and would not travel to prepare in Portugal.
"He is an experienced athlete who I have worked with for more than four years and we will assess the situation again in the coming days."
Idowu, who lost out to Portugal's Nelson Evora by five centimetres in 2008, is 1213.00 to take Gold in London, with American duo Christian Taylor and Will Claye 1.50 and 6.00 respectively.
