Colsaerts welcomes Bulgaria debut

Nicolas Colsaerts has welcomed the decision to take the Volvo Match Play Championship to Bulgaria next year in what will be a first for the European Tour.
Colsaerts will defend the title he won in Spain this summer at the Gary Player-designed Thracian Cliffs in May - the first time a tour event has taken place in the Eastern European country.

I've never been to Bulgaria, but I've heard great things about the country.

With a spectacular location beside the Black Sea and featuring several 'death or glory' holes, the venue promises to offer plenty of excitement when it takes place from May 16-19.
The course only opened last summer, but Colsaerts is excited at the prospect of defending his title at the new venue - despite never having been to Bulgaria before.
He told Sky Sports: "This just demonstrates the global appeal of golf.
"I've never been to Bulgaria, but I've heard great things about the country and Thracian Cliffs and I can't wait to defend my title there in May next year.
"Having won both the 2011 Volvo China Open and the 2012 Volvo World Match Play Championship, I think Volvo might be my lucky charm, so I hope that continues to be the case in 2013."
Colsaerts followed Ian Poulter into the record books of the famous competition with victory in May, and a strong field of 24 players is expected for next year's event.
Thracian Cliffs is the third venue to be used in the history of the Volvo Match Play Championship, with the event having been staged at Wentworth from 1964-2007, before switching to Finca Cortesin in southern Spain.
Colsaerts is 23.00 to win this week's BMW Masters, with Rory McIlroy 5.50 and Luke Donald 10.00.
