Steven Gerrard seems certain to start against Anzhi.Liverpool are set to name a strong side for the Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala even though they play Everton in just three days' time.
The Russian side, which includes Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o, will provide a tough test for the Reds, who were beaten by Udinese in the last round of matches.

We've made changes before but we're looking at this one as a very important and a very hard game.

Brendan Rodgers fielded a below-strength side for that game, as he did for the 5-3 victory at Young Boys, but is expected to name captain Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez in his starting line-up for tonight's clash.
It is a game that Liverpool are 1.66 to win, with Gerrard available at 8.00 to open the scoring while Eto'o can be backed at 6.50.
Assistant boss Colin Pascoe said: "We've made changes before but we're looking at this one as a very important and a very hard game.
"Anzhi are a strong unit with big players. We probably will go a little bit stronger than we have in the earlier matches.
"Unfortunately we lost to Udinese - even when we went stronger with the subs coming on. We were unlucky in that game. Against Anzhi we will go a bit stronger. We are at home and we want to win the game."
Brad Jones will keep his place in goal as Pepe Reina continues to have treatment on the hamstring injury which ruled him out of Saturday's 1-0 win against Reading.
Liverpool are 1213.00 to win this season's Europa League while Anzhi can be backed at 1213.00.
