Inter Milan have parted company with manager Claudio Ranieri following a 2-0 weekend defeat to Juventus which left them down in eighth place in Serie A.
Claudio Ranieri has been shown the door at Inter Milan. The vastly-experienced Ranieri only took charge of the Nerazzurri in September, but has been unable to turn Inter's season around, with his side having won just once in their last ten league games.
Prior to that Inter had won seven Serie A games in a row to raise hopes of the club at least securing a Champions League spot for next season.
However, those hopes look to have been dashed by the dismal form of recent weeks, with Primavera coach Andrea Stramaccioni given the job of trying to rescue the campaign.
A statement from the ailing Serie A giants confirmed: "President Massimo Moratti and everyone at Inter would like to offer their sincere thanks to Claudio Ranieri and his staff for the professionalism and commitment they showed over recent months."
Moratti had earlier in the day given his backing to Ranieri by saying: "I think that Ranieri will stay with us until June."
Stramaccioni's first game in charge sees Inter play host to Genoa on Sunday, with the Nerazzurri 1.57 to register a much-needed win, while the draw is 3.75 and Genoa are 6.00 to leave the San Siro will all three points.
