Rodgers realistic over Agger future

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers accepts that he may be forced to allow defender Daniel Agger to leave the club, but only for a suitable fee.

He is one of the leading players in European football, so it is going to be a big valuation.

The 27-year-old Denmark international has been heavily linked with Manchester City in recent days, but Rodgers will not allow Agger to leave on the cheap.
He told reporters: "He (Agger) is one of the leading players in European football, so it is going to be a big valuation.
"Is he a player I want to lose? No. He understands how I want to work and can play a real pivotal part in how I want to play.
"But I am a realist. If someone comes in with a massive bid and it is in the best interests of the club, whether it is Daniel or any other player, you have to look at it."
Meanwhile, Rodgers is content that star striker Luis Suarez, who recently penned a new long-term contract will be ready for the start of the domestic season - after playing for Uruguay at the Olympics.
Rodgers told the club's official website: "He's come back and looked really good in the last couple of days.
"I have no worries about the likes of Luis. He was in his pre-season, it just wasn't with us. We know he's class, he looks fit, looks strong and will be ready."
The Reds are 301.00 to finish in the top four in the Premier League next season and are 751.00 to secure a shock title success, their first in more than two decades.
