Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has warned the club they can't dine out forever on last season's dramatic Premier League title triumph.
The Blues skipper has been nursing a calf strain during pre-season but is hoping to lead out Roberto Mancini's side in Sunday's annual curtain raiser against Chelsea at Villa Park in the Community Shield.

It is about what lies ahead. I think there is so much great stuff ahead of us.

The 26-year-old recently penned a six-year deal to stay at the Etihad Stadium, and now wants City to lay down an early marker against the European Champions. City are 9.50 to win the match 2-1, while a 1-0 victory for Chelsea can be backed at 12.00.
The Belgian insists: "One of the main things for me is not to keep looking back at the final game of last season for too long. I just want to move on.
"It has been a big story all over the world but it's about looking forward, this is over now. It is about what lies ahead. I think there is so much great stuff ahead of us.
"Last year's Community Shield was a disappointment for us (losing 3-2 to Manchester United). Maybe we were a game late into our preparation.
"Our preparation now involves a lot more practice games and therefore I think we will be ready for the Community Shield."
The Premier League champions are 51.00 to retain their crown next season, with Chelsea at 251.00 to win the title.
