Arsene Wenger has confirmed Thierry Henry will soon put pen to paper on a two-month loan with Arsenal, subject to insurance agreement with the New York Red Bulls.
Thierry Henry is nearing an Arsenal return. The Gunners legend is training with his former club during the MLS break and Wenger is delighted to be able to call on his services while forwards Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh are away at the African Cup of Nations. However, he stressed any deal could not be announced until the relevant paperwork is agreed.
"To cover for two months is ideal. He has the experience and the quality. He knows the club and can help the players on and off the pitch," said the Arsenal boss.
"He has exceptional talent and is a very intelligent man. It can only be positive.

He knows the club and can help the players on and off the pitch.

"He still has class, pace and quality. He is here to help the club he loves. But we must not put too much pressure on him, he is 34. He needs two good weeks' work. He is here to help - not suddenly be the main player."
If the issues with the paperwork are agreed in time, Henry could make his return in the FA Cup third-round tie against Leeds at the Emirates on 9th January.
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie will be aiming to break Alan Shearer's goalscoring record when the Gunners face QPR on Saturday. Arsenal are 7.00 to win 3-0, with the Dutch star at 1.40 to score at any time. A 2-2 draw can be backed at 23.00.
