Mark Hughes will hope for a morale-boosting win at Loftus Road tonight.QPR defender Anton Ferdinand will miss tonight's Capital One Cup third round clash with Reading, due to a hamstring injury.
Tonight's match sees the two bottom sides in the Premier League get a welcome break from the pressures of the top flight, and a chance to regain some form.
Ryan Nelsen and Clint Hill are likely to form a centre back pairing for the home side at Loftus Road in Ferdinand's absence.

He (Taraabt) has to bide his time like a number of other players do.

Rangers defender Jose Boswinga is injured, having picked up hamstring knock against Tottenham at the weekend in QPR's 2-1 defeat, while Armand Traore (leg), Andy Johnson (knee) and Fabio (hamstring) will also sit out tonight's clash.
It could give a chance to Stephane Mbia, Adel Taarabt and Jamie Mackie, who is 3.60 to score this evening, who have been on the sidelines for the early part of the season due to injury and team selection.
QPR are 1.72 to win tonight, while Reading - who are bottom of the Premier League - can be backed at to win 4.50.
Meanwhile, Rangers boss Mark Hughes has said that playmaker Taarabt still has a part to play at the West London club.
The Moroccan midfielder has only made one start this season for the Rs and has continually been linked with a move away from the club during the last two seasons.
"He has to bide his time like a number of other players do. There are a number of players waiting to get a run in the team, and they will get that run," Hughes commented.
"They just need to keep on focusing on working hard on training and making it difficult to leave them out of the team."
Reading manager Brian McDermott is expected to give some squad players a run out this evening, with winger Jimmy Kebe likely to play his first game of the season after recovering from a hamstring problem.
Jason Roberts and Adam Federici are both unavailable for the Royals, due to calf and knee injuries respectively.
