Tardelli: Republic can shock the Germans

Marco Tardelli says the Republic of Ireland will be going all out to defeat Germany in Friday's World Cup qualifier.
The Republic have been hit by injuries ahead of the clash, with Richard Dunne, Sean St Ledger, Glenn Whelan, James McClean and Kevin Doyle all ruled out. However, Tardelli insists they believe they can shock the Germans on their home turf. They are 21.00 to win 2-1, with a clean sheet available at 8.00. A 1-1 draw can be backed at 8.50.

We need to believe it's possible to play against all teams.

"We will try to win, it's normal for us," said Giovanni Trapattoni's number two.
"If we can win against Germany, it will be important for the team and for the country.
"But a draw? I don't know. It is better to wait. The Germans are a strong team, they are very quick and they play very well with their wingers because they cut in with their strikers.
"We know that Germany is a very good team and we have many problems, but we need to believe it's possible to play against all teams."
Keith Andrews should return after suspension while Keith Fahey could line up in midfield alongside James McCarthy, with David Meyler also in contention as the Irish look to counteract the threat of Mesut Ozil.
"We put three midfielders on the pitch and one midfielder is for Ozil," added Tardelli.
Chelsea's Conor Clifford, who spent time on loan at Portsmouth earlier in the season, was called up to the squad on Tuesday evening to boost the Republic's midfield options.
