Powell eyes Baldock swoop

Charlton manager Chris Powell has hinted he could make a move for West Ham striker Sam Baldock.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is ready to either send the £300,000 hitman out on loan this season or sell him for around £500,000.
Powell believes the former Milton Keynes man has much to offer and is ready to swoop on a player who has become a big fan's favourite. Baldock has already grabbed a goal in each of the Hammers' pre-season friendlies.
However, with Allardyce focused on bringing in a big target man, both Baldock and £1.5m signing Nick Maynard look likely to become surplus to requirements.

He's a good player. There is talk that he is available but we will have to see how that happens because he's been scoring goals for West Ham and would improve any team.

Powell admits he's a fan of 23 year old Baldock declaring: "He's a good player. There is talk that he is available but we will have to see how that happens because he's been scoring goals for West Ham and would improve any team."
Charlton are 1213.00 to make it back-to-back promotions this season after securing their spot in the Championship by winning League One.
