Raymond van Barneveld faces the challenge of Gary Anderson.
Two of the biggest names in darts clash in the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship when Raymond van Barneveld meets Gary Anderson.
Five-time world champion Van Barneveld has had an inconsistent year and is only seeded 13th for this tournament despite winning the Grand Slam of Darts last month.
He has though shown some of the best darts of anyone in this tournament so far, including an average of over 108 in his opening round victory over Michael Smith.
The Dutchman is 1.66 to reach the quarter-finals at the Alexandra Palace for a fifth time, while the Flying Scotsman is 2.20.
Barney won this event on his debut in 2007 when beating Phil Taylor in one of the greatest finals in history and he is 1213.00 to add another world title to his name on 1st January.
Anderson was runner up in this competition in 2011, but has been made to work for his progress this time around.
In his first-round clash with qualifier Jani Haavisto he dropped a set and was fortunate that the man from Finland missed chances to punish him further.
Then the real scare came for the world number five in the following round where he edged John Bowles 4-3. In this case the qualifier missed two darts to seal the match and eventually went down to the Scot in a final leg tie-breaker.
Also in action this evening is reigning world champion Adrian Lewis, who takes on The Artist Kevin Painter, while Dutchman Michael van Gerwen completes the evening schedule in his clash with the former world number one Colin Lloyd.
