The 'Little Master' Sachin Tendulkar has decided to call time on his one-day international career after a long and illustrious time with India.
Tendulkar will continue to play in the Test form of the game, but his lengthy spell in the shorter form of the game has now come to an end.
The 39-year-old, who scored almost 18,500 runs including 49 centuries in his 463 ODIs, has thanked the Indian fans for their support throughout his career in that form of the game.
He said: "I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup wining Indian team.
"The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest. I would like to wish the team all the very best for the future.
"I am eternally grateful to all my well wishers for their unconditional support and love over the years."
