Cutting wary of Gayle force

Brisbane Heat won't underestimate Chris Gayle when they take on Sydney Thunder on Friday, says pace bowler Ben Cutting.
The West Indies star has underperformed in the Big Bash so far this season, but Cutting says it's only a matter of time before he lets loose. He just hopes it won't be against his side, with the Heat needing to win at least three of their last four games to reach the finals.
Once he [Chris Gayle] gets that big bat up high he can be very dangerous.Ben Cutting
Cutting has had an excellent Sheffield Shield season for Queensland, scoring 348 runs at 38 and taking 22 wickets at 18. But he is having to give plenty of thought to his approach when bowling to Gayle at ANZ Stadium. Though Gayle has struggled for runs, making just 33 over his three innings so far, he remains a hugely dangerous batsman.
Cutting said: "I have been thinking that we are due for a win and he is due to go off.
"Those events are probably mutually exclusive, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
"The straight boundaries (at ANZ Stadium) are short so it is difficult to pitch the ball full there. I think a lot of teams have worked that out and have bowled more bumpers to him.
"I might try that as well, but the problem is when I have done it in the past they have ended up 20 or 30 rows back.
"Once he gets that big bat up high he can be very dangerous."
Cutting is happy with the way he is playing this season.
"I feel my form is as good or better than it was before Christmas last year," he said. "I am relaxing more and am not as stressed at the crease even though we are playing Twenty20 at the moment."
The Heat 1.80 to beat Sydney Thunder, who are priced at 2.00. Perth Scorchers are 2.00 to beat Melbourne Renegades, who are 1.80.
